  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk or cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the crisp topping by mixing flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter until crumbly.
  3. Toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy; add eggs one at a time along with vanilla and milk.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. For the cream cheese filling, beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth; mix in flour, vanilla, and egg until fully combined.
  7. Layer half of the bread batter in the pan; add half of the cream cheese filling and apple mixture. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients and top with crisp mixture.
  8. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Cool before glazing.
