  • 2 tsp instant coffee
  • 3/4 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugars, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk mixture, sour cream, and coffee; mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir in boiling water until well combined.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  6. For frosting, melt dark chocolate with corn syrup; then beat cream cheese until fluffy and mix in cocoa and powdered sugar.
