Sicilian Cassata Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 sponge cake, sliced
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup candied fruit mix
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 cup rum (optional)

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, candied fruit, citrus zest, chocolate, pistachios, and rum.
  2. Line a cake mold with plastic wrap and place a layer of sponge cake at the bottom.
