Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium chicken breasts
  • 12 oz linguine pasta
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Season sliced chicken breasts with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet used for chicken, melt unsalted butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in Dijon mustard, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine: Add cooked linguine to the skillet with sauce. Toss well to coat pasta evenly; adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if necessary. Return sliced chicken to the pan and mix thoroughly.
  5. Serve: Plate the pasta topped with fresh parsley for garnish.
