  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of crusty bread (like ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/4 cup additional grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: sliced tomatoes
  • Optional: crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (overnight preferred) for added tenderness.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Remove chicken from buttermilk; coat in the seasoned flour mixture.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry chicken until golden brown (5-7 minutes per side).
  5. For the dressing, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  7. Assemble by spreading dressing on toasted bread, layering with lettuce and crispy chicken.
