  • 10 cups cubed sourdough or French bread
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups chopped celery (about 34 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cube the bread and spread it on a baking sheet to dry out slightly in the oven.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion and celery until soft (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Stir in the fresh herbs and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the dried bread cubes with the sautéed vegetables. Gradually add broth while gently tossing everything together. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
