  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, balances acidity)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice for finishing

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in Greek yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and spices for at least one hour.
  2. In a pan, heat butter or ghee and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and ginger; stir until fragrant.
  3. Mix in the spices and cook for another minute.
  4. Add marinated chicken and brown on all sides before incorporating tomato paste and crushed tomatoes.
  5. Pour in heavy cream or coconut milk and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
