  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the vanilla cake mix with water, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan to form the first layer.
  4. In another bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy; spread over the batter.
  5. Spoon the remaining batter over the cream cheese layer evenly.
  6. Whisk together cocoa powder with milk; drizzle this mixture on top of the batter for marbling.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips over everything before baking.
  8. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow cooling completely before serving.
