  • ½ cup concentrated orange juice, thawed
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • Orange Zest from one orange (Optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Extract
  • Orange Coloring Gel for desired shade of orange (Optional)
  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 7 cups Powdered Sugar, adjusted slightly up or down to your liking
  • Orange Coloring Gel for tinting (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, concentrated orange juice, and orange extract.
  4. In a mixer bowl, beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and mix until fluffy.
  5. Incorporate eggs one at a time; add optional coloring gel for desired shade.
  6. Alternate adding dry and wet mixtures while mixing on low speed.
  7. Divide batter among prepared pans and bake for 28-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cakes on wire racks before frosting with cream cheese frosting.
