Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and form four oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions and mushrooms for about 7-9 minutes until tender.
  4. Lower heat and add butter; once melted, sprinkle flour while stirring constantly for about 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder to the gravy. Return cooked patties to the skillet and let simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
