  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with buttermilk into the butter mixture until just mixed.
