Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and diced jalapeños. Mix until well combined.
  2. Roll small portions of the mixture into balls about the size of golf balls and set aside.
  3. Set up your coating station: one bowl with flour mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; another bowl with breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat each cheese ball first in the flour mixture then in the breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot enough, fry the coated bites in batches until golden brown—about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve warm.
