  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 30 soft caramel candies
  • 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • ⅓ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup salted butter (cut into small pieces)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Chill the pie crust in the freezer while preparing the filling.
  3. In a bowl, combine apple slices with lemon juice. Sprinkle sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt over apples; mix well.
  4. Melt caramels with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth. Stir one-third into the apple mixture.
  5. Pour apple filling into the crust; dot with butter.
  6. For topping, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
