  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar, and yeast until evenly combined.
  2. Create a well in the center and pour in warm water and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the risen dough gently and divide into six equal pieces. Shape each piece into mini baguette forms.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Allow shaped baguettes to rise again for about 30 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet before baking for about 18 minutes or until golden brown.
