  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon seasoning salt
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried or fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing garlic salt, seasoning salt, kosher salt, black pepper, sugar, garlic powder, parsley, and olive oil in a bowl.
  2. Coat the tri tip roast with the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or up to overnight in the fridge.
  3. For grilling: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated tri tip for about 25 minutes total, flipping halfway through.
  4. For roasting: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the marinated tri tip on a parchment-lined baking sheet and roast for about 25 minutes.
